As a Healthcare Assistant IG in Mental Healthcare (GGZ), you contribute to the care of people with a severe psychiatric disorder (EPA). You will work in departments that provide specialized care for clients in various phases of their recovery. This role combines intensive care with recovery-oriented guidance, within a safe and secure environment.
What you do
You will work alternately in the High & Intensive Care (HIC) and the Recovery Intensive Follow-up Department (HIVA).
- In the HIC, you provide intensive guidance to clients who have temporarily relapsed and need extra support to stabilize. You act in a de-escalating manner, maintain an overview in crisis situations, and contribute to safety and calm.
- In the HIVA, you guide clients who come from an intensive treatment setting and are working on their recovery. You support them in building structure, increasing self-reliance, and taking steps towards transitioning to a less intensive living or treatment arrangement.
- You work in a dynamic and secure environment where you continuously switch between care and guidance.
- Together with a multidisciplinary team, you make a direct contribution to the client's stability, safety, and perspective.
Your Responsibilities:
- Guiding and caring for clients (ADL and somatic care)
- Observing behavior and health and anticipating accordingly
- Supporting recovery and establishing a daily structure
- Identifying tension and acting in a de-escalating manner
- Coordinating with colleagues, therapists
- Working according to the frameworks of the Wvggz (Compulsory Mental Healthcare Act)
