An educational group provides special education for primary school-aged students and offers practical education and secondary special education from vmbo to havo/vwo level for students aged 12 to 20. Students receive extra guidance due to, for example, autism, behavioral problems, or learning difficulties. The schools offer a special learning environment and expert guidance to develop talents.
In addition to education, vocational integration programs are also realized for students and young adults who are distant from the labor market. For regular schools working with students with special educational needs, tailored advice, guidance, and educational expertise are provided.
What you will do. As a mentor for an upper-level class within practical education (PrO), years 4 and 5, you will be a trusted point of contact for students.
- Provide lessons
- Offer structure and create a safe pedagogical environment
- Guide students in their socio-emotional development
- Help students strengthen their independence, study skills, and employee skills
- Prepare students for their next step towards work or further education
- Collaborate with colleagues, internship coordinators, the internal supervisor, and the behavioral scientist
- Maintain close contact with parents/guardians
- Coordinate with external supervisors and aid workers where necessary
What they ask
- Preferably a qualified teacher with a completed PABO education or another suitable teaching qualification
- An additional Master SEN is a plus
- Strong pedagogically, with calm, confidence, and clarity in front of a group
- Looking for a challenging work environment within specialized secondary education
- Good teaching qualities and adaptation of education to the needs of students
- Able to provide a structured learning environment
- Good communication and social skills in contact with students, parents, guardians, colleagues, and external specialists
