This role is at the intersection of architecture and construction engineering, where you will contribute to the further development of construction technical quality within complex projects. You are an experienced building engineer who breathes technology and can understand complex buildings in detail, with a deep understanding of how they are actually built.
You will work on challenging projects where your expertise truly makes a difference, translating complex issues into clear, feasible solutions, and providing internal direction to project teams. You will act as a substantive sparring partner and right-hand to the project leader. What you do
As a building engineer, you are the substantive construction technical authority within projects and the driving force behind the technical elaboration. Your tasks include:
- Analyzing risks
- Identifying critical construction nodes
- Translating complex issues into clear, feasible solutions
- Setting technical guidelines for project teams
- Determining which details are essential for both execution and aesthetic design
- Playing an important role in the development of colleagues
- Sharing knowledge, guiding colleagues, and helping the team grow in construction technical expertise
What they ask They are looking for an experienced building engineer who has built up their expertise in practice, both from behind a desk and on the construction site. You understand how buildings are designed, technically elaborated, and actually realized. You are analytically strong and conceptually sharp, but always pragmatic in your solutions. In projects, you are the substantive authority based on your knowledge and experience. In addition, you possess:
- An HBO or university degree in Building Engineering, Architecture, or a comparable technical field
- 25 years of relevant experience within architectural firms, engineering firms, or construction companies
- Demonstrable experience with complex and realized construction projects
- Affinity with architecture and high-quality construction
- Good communication skills, both in Dutch and English
