IP & Technology Transfer Manager

• You are the first point of contact for researchers from various faculties.
• You assess new inventions for patentability, value, and commercial potential.
• You advise on intellectual property (IP) and develop strategies for protection and commercialization.
• You guide patent procedures and explore opportunities for technology transfer.
• You prepare business cases and negotiate licenses and other IP agreements, in consultation with an internal team and a specialized entity.
• You connect science and business, collaborating with inventors, deans, startups, SMEs, and international industrial partners.
• You bring together diverse interests and clearly explain complex IP issues.
• You guide projects from start to finish or provide strategic advice, always aiming to advance innovative technology.
• You work within an innovation and impact center, where you contribute to increasing the societal and economic impact of research.
• You manage and protect intellectual property (IP), including patents, software, and trademark and design rights.
• You stimulate entrepreneurship and guide the scaling of innovations in society.
• You are part of an open, engaged, and largely self-managing team of 8 colleagues.

What they ask

• University degree, preferably in computer science, electrical engineering, or another technical / natural science field.
• Experience with intellectual property, business development, and/or technological innovation.
• Affinity with innovative technology and scientific research.
• Knowledge of commercial (contract) negotiations, preferably international and focused on license agreements for patents or software.
• Clear and convincing communication skills, easily establishes contacts.
• Takes initiative, works independently, and proactively seeks collaboration.
• Gladly shares knowledge and raises awareness among scientists about intellectual property.
• Works structured, sets priorities, and easily switches between projects.
• Good command of Dutch and English (spoken and written).
