Product Owner

North BrabantOn site36 hours/week<3months

This e-commerce organization is looking for a Product Owner who understands digital products, sees opportunities where others see problems, and enjoys making daily decisions to advance the webshop, app, and digital platforms. The organization sells products via webshops in multiple countries, its own app, and marketplaces. Behind these webshops are a search and filter layer, address validation, cross-country inventory logic, and a set of integrations with marketplaces and partners.

Development, design, and management are done in-house as much as possible. A roadmap is fully planned until the end of next year. The focus is on maintaining a tight process for the webshops.

What you will do.

  • Gather wishes and bottlenecks from marketing, purchasing, customer service, logistics, and management, and together with them determine the order in which topics on the roadmap will be addressed.
  • Write tickets that a developer can pick up without further questions: problem, desired outcome, acceptance criteria, test agreements. This is done in Linear, following the existing model.
  • Prepare and lead refinements and demos with the development teams.
  • Monitor the scope, progress, and quality of what is included in a release.
  • Arrange test windows, acceptance, and go-live, ensuring that business and developers have the same expectations about what will be finished and when.
  • Maintain an overview: what is where, who is waiting for whom, what has been decided and why.
  • Manage expectations between stakeholders (marketing, development, management).
  • Initially work alongside an experienced Product Owner and gradually take over the webshop side. The app will remain outside your scope.

What they ask

  • Minimum of three years of experience in e-commerce, in a role where you have brought projects from start to go-live (e.g., as a product owner, project manager, e-commerce manager, or implementation consultant).
  • Experience with the rollout of PIM, replatforming, checkout redesigns, marketplace integrations.
  • Experience working with both an in-house development team and external parties, and knowing how to manage both without coding yourself.
  • Be able to engage in substantive discussions with developers about systems, integrations, and technical possibilities.
  • Be able to explain an API, a PIM, and a checkout flow to someone from marketing.
  • Write clearly, so that a ticket or decision from your hand requires no follow-up questions.
  • Be able to tell a stakeholder that something is not possible, or not now, and explain why, without damaging the relationship.
  • Experience with AI-tooling.
  • Native level Dutch.
  • English good enough for discussions with international parties.

Practical

  • Work full-time in the office.
