Spatial Development Policy Advisor

A government organization is looking for a spatial development policy advisor due to the expiration of existing assignments.

What you will do.

• Take the lead in setting up spatial frameworks for large development plans involving many parties.
• Advise on smaller initiatives deviating from the environmental plan.
• Contribute to the gradual elaboration of the municipal-wide Environmental Plan.
• Advise management and the board on spatial issues.
• Draft policy notes and update or standardize policies.
• Collaborate integrally with various policy areas, chain partners, and stakeholders.
• Maintain an overview and control over all policy areas.
• Coordinate activities and working methods with colleagues in the Spatial Development advisory team.
• Take up an embedded position under the leadership and supervision of the team manager.

• Demonstrable completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level in the field of spatial planning.
• Minimum of 5 years demonstrable work experience in the past 7 years as a spatial development policy advisor within a municipality.

Wishes.

• Minimum of 5 years demonstrable work experience as a spatial development advisor at a medium-sized municipality (30,000 to 80,000 inhabitants).
• Demonstrable knowledge of the Environmental Act (Omgevingswet) and environmental law.
• Demonstrable work experience with guiding spatial procedures.
• Demonstrable work experience within a municipality in a specific region.
