As Team Leader Legal Affairs, you lead a team and are responsible for the continuous development of the legal function within a water management organization. You ensure that employees can perform their work well and with pleasure, that they optimally utilize their knowledge, and collaborate as a team. You are the figurehead for the legal professionals and provide sound legal advice and adequate support to the appeals committee. You tackle complex legal matters together with the team.
You contribute strategically to the thinking of management and the board and maintain a relevant network.
In addition, you take on the role of Project Leader for the water management organization's elections. You manage the team involved, coordinate with the steering group, and proactively contribute to joint consultations with other water management organizations. It is expected that you will spend half of your time on the elections and the other half on your team leader tasks.
As soon as a permanent team leader is recruited, the tasks associated with the team leader role will cease, and the focus will be exclusively on the project leader tasks.

- Contribute to the further professionalization of legal advice to management and the board.
- Undertake the continuous development and professionalization of the Legal Affairs team.
- Be an example in the field of administrative and environmental sensitivity, strategic advice, and integrated administrative decision-making.
- Take responsibility for high-quality legal products from the team.
- Optimize processes and maintain application management, and where necessary, update/establish policies and process descriptions.
- Co-shape the development of the Administrative Support, Legal Affairs, and Communication department.
- Build bridges at management level and be active in various strategic external networks.
- Take responsibility for the financial management and HR tasks of your team.
- Undertake the tasks as Project Leader for the water management organization's elections.

- Demonstrably completed education at a minimum of WO bachelor level in a legal field.
- Minimum 10 years of demonstrable work experience as a manager.
- Demonstrable work experience in the public sector in the spatial and/or water domain.
Preferences.
- Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience at a water management organization.
- Demonstrable work experience with complex legal files where various conflicting interests and stakeholders were brought together.
- Demonstrable work experience with long-term absenteeism files.
