Ambulant Counselor

Make a real difference as an ambulant counselor. You have an eye for people who have become stuck in multiple areas. You know that behind behavior often lies a story and that small steps can have great meaning. With patience, clarity, and perseverance, you help participants regain control over their daily lives and live as independently as possible. For a team in a northern province, an ambulant counselor is sought who can work independently, is resilient, and gains energy from varied and meaningful work.

What you will do.

  • You guide adults with multiple and complex issues, such as psychiatric and/or addiction problems. Debts, limited living skills, or judicial frameworks can also play a role.
  • You work ambulantly and visit participants at home. This allows you to see what is actually happening in their daily lives.
  • You work recovery-oriented and align with the participant's possibilities and goals.
  • You build trust, provide structure, and together look for long-term solutions.
  • Even when a situation becomes complicated, you remain calm and maintain an overview.
  • You have an important signaling role. You notice when things are not going well, discuss this with the participant, and involve other professionals or agencies where necessary.
  • Drawing up and evaluating the care plan together with the participant.
  • Guiding participants with living, daily functioning, and personal goals.
  • Managing your own caseload and reporting on guidance goals.
  • Signaling risks and acting promptly in case of changes or escalation.
  • Collaborating with municipalities, mental health services, neighbors, family, and other chain partners.
  • Stimulating independence, self-reliance, and participation in society.
  • Participating in on-call services.

Profile

  • You are independent, committed, and professional.
  • You can handle different people and situations well and know when to give space and when to set boundaries.
  • You look beyond the problem and see possibilities.
  • At the same time, you dare to be clear and take responsibility when necessary.
  • A completed HBO education, for example Social Work, MWD, SPH, or HBO-V.
  • A driving license and access to a car.
  • The ability to provide a Certificate of Conduct (VOG).
  • A Christian identity and you can explain what this means to you.

Practical

  • You will be given the space to work independently, use your professional judgment, and further develop yourself.
  • Development: 1.5% career budget and ample opportunities through an internal academy.
  • Travel expenses: mileage allowance or NS Business Card and participation in a bicycle plan.
  • Extras: 170 leave hours for 36 hours, vitality days, 8.3% year-end bonus, 8% holiday allowance, pension accrual, and €75 sports budget per year.
