In this role, you guide detainees in a workshop where they perform simple production work. You ensure they can work daily, providing them with meaningful daytime activities. Thanks to your efforts, they are well-prepared for a successful return to society. You guide and motivate a group of up to 24 detainees during their work activities. The content of the work varies per workshop but mainly consists of production work, such as making parts for roller blinds and labeling cans.
You ensure they perform their work well and that all products are ready on time for the client's order.
What you do
- Prepare the workshop and distribute tasks.
- Guide detainees during their work, providing explanations, answering questions, and assisting when necessary.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as ordering goods, sending invoices, and tracking worked hours.
- Conduct progress interviews with detainees about their development.
- Maintain contact with clients to ensure products and assignments meet agreed standards.
- Motivate and coach detainees, encouraging them to do their work well and stay motivated.
- Conduct firm discussions and set clear boundaries.
- Take the lead and ensure rules are followed, while supporting detainees in their development.

- Demonstrable MBO 4 work and thinking level.
- Some experience working in production, maintenance, logistics, metal, bread/pastry, woodworking, textile, or building maintenance.
- Good communication skills in Dutch and preferably also in English.
- Good physical and mental condition.
- You enjoy working with groups of people and helping them progress, even if they show resistance.
- You can explain well, remain alert, and always have an eye for safety.
- You can maintain boundaries and are not afraid to have firm discussions.
- Ability to relativize so you are not easily upset by problems or challenges.
- Empathy to understand the detainees' world, stimulating and motivating them appropriately.
- Ability to maintain professional distance for a safe and structured environment.
