Coordinating Policy Officer
New nuclear reactors, Small Modular Reactors, and nuclear-powered vessels require clear rules and safety policies. As a coordinating policy officer at a government organization, you will work on protecting people and the environment from the risks of radioactive radiation. You will apply your knowledge to a politically current and socially important topic. In the coming years, the country faces important choices in the field of nuclear safety.
New nuclear reactors, SMRs, and developments in the maritime sector create new challenges. You will help adapt policies, legislation, and regulations to these initiatives, so that they can be safely licensed by the relevant authority. In this role, you combine substantive knowledge with direction and coordination as the lead for the new initiatives cluster.
You are an important discussion partner in national and international safety dossiers, for example, in collaboration with other government agencies, knowledge institutions, and international organizations. You will help colleagues advance substantively, connect different dossiers, and ensure that developments are timely translated into policy and administration. You will work on topics that are highly topical in political and social discourse.
In doing so, you will ensure that complex technical issues are made understandable for administrators and policymakers. You will also contribute to policy documents, regulations, parliamentary documents, answering parliamentary questions, and preparing debates.
