Social worker

A public social welfare center offers support and guidance to the most vulnerable residents, in various forms such as financial and material assistance, legal advice, socio-professional support, and cultural activities. The goal is to help beneficiaries achieve maximum autonomy, taking into account each person's individual situation.

What you will do.

• Ensure the analysis and processing of social assistance applications, taking into account the legal framework and internal guidelines
• Provide correct and qualitative information to individuals seeking assistance from the organization
• Organize qualitative and fair social follow-up by actively listening, respecting professional secrecy, and considering the person's situation
• Be proactive and flexible in your work and personal development
• Ensure information sharing and collaboration with various departments
• Welcome and guide beneficiaries in their integration into the labor market through individual coaching
• Be the reference person for the aid seeker by actively involving them in the success of their project
• Draw up a socio-professional balance sheet and/or a skills assessment to identify needs, define specific objectives (literacy, basic or qualifying training, etc.), and propose adapted solutions
• Develop and draft an individualized social integration project (PIIS)
• Regularly conduct individual evaluations and draw up a report on the progress of the project implemented
• Provide psychosocial and material support: assistance with drafting CVs and cover letters, preparation for job interviews, job search

What they ask

• Must hold a bachelor's degree in social work
• Have worked or interned in a public social welfare center
• Be familiar with the law concerning the right to social integration of 26/05/2002, the organic law of the public social welfare centers of 08/07/1976, and the law of 02/04/1965 concerning the assumption of support granted by public social welfare centers
• Show genuine interest in the subject matter of the position
• Be able to use the most common IT tools
• Have good analytical and summarizing skills and good communication skills (oral and written)
• Act in accordance with good professional practice standards and respect the confidentiality rules specific to your function
• Be able to listen, show diplomacy and flexibility, and be solution-oriented
• Be meticulous, autonomous
• Master French and/or Dutch, both orally and in writing, and ideally possess the SELOR language certificate or be willing to obtain it
