Young Adult Counselor

Supporting young adults with visual, intellectual, and physical disabilities.
- Providing care and guidance to clients aged 18 to 30, some of whom are wheelchair-bound.
- Creating a safe and stimulating environment for personal development and achieving goals.
- Offering practical support with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and guidance for social and emotional challenges.
What you do
- Working with a unique target group: young adults with multiple disabilities.
- Guiding clients in their daily and group activities, both practically and socio-emotionally.
- Supporting ADL, such as dressing, washing, showering, and assisting with meals.
- Performing any necessary care/nursing actions.
- Creating a pleasant, stimulating, and homely atmosphere where clients can develop.
- Observing and identifying issues and reporting them.
- Acting as a contact person for several clients and coordinating with parents, caregivers, and therapists.
What they ask
- A completed care/agogic education at level 3 or 4.
- Experience in care, preferably with wheelchair-bound clients, or willingness to learn (hoists).
- Patience, empathy, and an eye for the personal wishes and needs of clients.
- A positive attitude, seeing possibilities where others do not, and ensuring a good and safe living environment.
