Operative Care Assistant

Do you enjoy working in the operating theatre, but without evening, night, and weekend shifts? As an Operative Care Assistant, you will focus on low to medium complexity operations within a close-knit operating team.

What you will do.

  • As a familiar face in the operating theatre, you will work within a healthcare institution across various specialisms, such as orthopaedics, abdominal surgery, urology, and gynaecology.
  • You will focus on low to medium complexity operations.
  • You will work in a close-knit team and jointly contribute to the operation, shoulder to shoulder with surgeons, anaesthesiologists, and operating assistants.
  • The team is well-coordinated and knows each other well, creating a work rhythm where you complement each other.
  • This is a new role within the healthcare institution, where you will contribute to shaping its further development.
  • You will work exclusively day shifts; evening, night, and weekend shifts are not part of this role.

Profile

  • A (nearly) completed MBO (intermediate vocational education) degree as an Operative Care Assistant (MOZ).
  • Two years of completed training as an operating assistant and an interest in this role are also welcome.
  • A keen eye for detail and stress resistance.
  • Patient safety and quality are paramount, and you work according to established protocols.
  • You enjoy working collaboratively in a close-knit team and are motivated to further develop this new role.
  • You like to take initiative and bring a healthy dose of humour.

Practical

  • You will work in an operating department with multiple operating theatres across different locations.
  • One location is characterized by planned care in a quiet environment.
  • The other location is a larger hospital facility, where acute care is also provided.
  • You will join a dedicated operating theatre team of over 200 colleagues, including 60 operating assistants.
  • Communication lines are short, and the atmosphere is collegial and professional, with much attention paid to one another.
