Finance Officer

The position entails hands-on responsibility for financial control and reporting.

  • The Finance Officer is also expected to be able to lead improvement initiatives within the Administration division of an intergovernmental organization.
  • The financial department is responsible for the financial management of the organization with offices in various cities, as well as a Financial Mechanism Office.

What you will do.

  • Financial reporting and analysis
  • Controlling of accounting and coordinating the year-end closure process
  • Project management of business improvement processes
  • Overseeing procurement, contract and travel management
  • Acting as Head of Finance when necessary

What they ask

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or other relevant fields
  • At least five years of relevant work experience in the fields of financial management, accounting, controlling, audit, and/or consulting
  • Solid understanding of accounting, controlling
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in using at least one accounting software package, and excellent command of MS Excel
  • Structured and analytical mindset
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, engaged, highly motivated, and able to take initiative

Desired skills.

  • Consulting experience of 2+ years is an advantage
  • Experience with payroll would be an asset
  • Experience in public procurement would be an asset
  • Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Finance and Power BI (Power Query, Power Pivot, etc.)
  • Experience as superuser in IT systems and/or experience with implementing systems
  • Experience in project management and leading business improvement processes
  • Experience working in an international environment
  • Self-reliance, autonomy and a proactive approach

  • This position is open to nationals of the EFTA States (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland).
