Ambulant Youth and Family Counselor

• Literally step into the lives of families and conduct home visits
• Build a relationship of trust and work together towards sustainable change
• Look at the strengths and opportunities within the family
• Teach families new skills and actively practice them with them in their own environment
• Guide families with complex issues who sometimes need a push
• Know how to connect, motivate, and make goals concrete together
• Work with different family dynamics and understand that each family needs something different
• Write care plans, report on successes and challenges
• Support families with diverse requests for help
• Work methodically and purposefully to strengthen families and increase their self-reliance
• Consider what a family needs to continue independently in the long term
• Collaborate within a core team, learn from each other, and share successes
• Possess excellent knowledge of the social support network and youth and family services
• Know which paths to take, what help is appropriate, and when to involve other expertise
• Organize your own agenda and activities with a lot of freedom
• Work independently, but can always rely on colleagues and the core team
• Adjust working hours to the needs of families (day/evening)

• Independent and entrepreneurial type with creativity and a strong personality
• Able to handle complex situations well
• Dares to make decisions and remains calm when things get complicated

What they ask

• Completed HBO bachelor's degree in an agogic field (e.g., Social Work or Pedagogy) or a WO degree in Orthopedagogy
• SKJ-registered (or eligible for immediate registration)
• In possession of a driving license and own transport, and willing to travel throughout the province for work
• Holds a Christian faith and can articulate what this means to them
