In this role, you guide detainees in a workshop where they perform simple production work. You ensure they can work daily and thus have a meaningful daily activity. Thanks to your efforts, they are well prepared for a successful return to society.
What you will do.
- Guide and motivate a group of up to 24 detainees during their activities in a workshop or workroom.
- Ensure proper execution of work and timely delivery of products for customers.
- Encourage detainees to perform their work well and stay motivated.
- Conduct discussions and set clear boundaries to enforce rules and support development.
- Prepare the workroom and distribute tasks.
- Provide explanations, answer questions, and assist as needed during work.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as ordering goods, sending invoices, and tracking hours worked.
- Conduct progress interviews about the development of detainees.
- Maintain contact with customers to ensure products and assignments meet agreed standards.
Profile
- You can set your boundaries and are not afraid to have firm conversations.
- Ability to relativize, so you are not easily upset by problems or challenges.
- Empathy to understand the world of detainees, stimulating and motivating them appropriately.
- Maintain professional distance for a safe and structured environment.
- Demonstrable MBO 4 working and thinking level (assessed with an aptitude test).
- Some experience working in production, maintenance, logistics, metal, bread/pastry, woodworking, textile, or building maintenance.
- Good communication skills in Dutch and preferably also in English.
- Good physical and mental condition.
- Enjoys working with groups of people and helping them progress, even when they show resistance.
- Good at explaining, remains alert, and always has an eye for safety.
Practical
- Onboarding period by an experienced colleague.
- Follow a generic training and two job-specific training courses (total 8 weeks, full-time, during working hours and at the organization's expense).
