Working within the healthcare of a government organization requires expertise, a focus on people, and an understanding of a unique operational context.
- Within the primary healthcare facilities (EGB) at a specific location, an experienced Occupational Health Physician Assistant is sought to bridge the gap between medical necessity and operational continuity.
- In this role, you will take the lead in the absenteeism process.
- This is a new position, with room for personal interpretation and development.
- You will work at a location where various units of the organization are active, including: training and education center, Command and Control support command, material logistics command.
- The EGB team consists of, among others: general practitioners, occupational health physicians, physiotherapists, primary care mental health assistants, doctor's assistants, and pharmacy assistants. It is a small and informal team.
What you will do.
- You are the crucial link between the employee, commander, and occupational health physician.
- You ensure that absenteeism is assessed in a timely manner, expert advice is provided, and the reintegration process runs smoothly.
- This is essential for the deployability of employees and operational continuity.
- Your responsibilities:
- Analyze the patient's request for help and, if necessary, directly involve the occupational health physician based on severity and operational impact.
- Inventory limitations due to illness and translate them into concrete work tools.
- Take an occupational history and inventory the limitations caused by illness for one's own work.
- Conduct conversations with patients, provide preliminary practice-oriented advice to the absent employee, the commander/supervisor, and the case manager.
- Draft conceptual feedback for employer and employee.
- The actual division of tasks and interpretation of the role will be determined in close consultation with the acting occupational health physician.

- You communicate clearly and convincingly with employees, supervisors, and the occupational health physician.
- You demonstrate strong empathy to respectfully guide employees through the absenteeism process.
- You are decisive and can prioritize quickly.
What they ask
- You have a relevant educational background and demonstrable work experience in the (social) medical sector.
- You hold the diploma of Occupational Health Physician Assistant (NSPOH, Hogeschool Breederode).
- You have experience with medical information systems, preferably D HiX.
- You are familiar with social medical guidance and/or case management.
- You are knowledgeable about the laws and regulations surrounding the Wet Poortwachter.
- You are familiar with NVAB standards and the specific labor and operational context of the organization.
