Personal Supervisor Complex (Young) Adults

North HollandOn site26 hours/week<3months

You work with residents who require extra attention and give a lot in return. You build warm relationships and immediately see the impact of your efforts. There is room for initiative, support from a close-knit team, and ample opportunities for growth.

The living group consists of 5 unique residents, ranging in age from 20 to 45 years, each with their own care needs and character. In addition to an auditory impairment, they may have an intellectual disability, autism, attachment issues, or a syndrome. You provide 1-on-1 support and encourage independence. You see opportunities, small steps, and major milestones. You support residents in their own apartments or in the communal living room and engage in activities together, such as walking or cycling.

When emotions run high or resistance arises, you remain calm and patient and restore balance. You work in a warm and experienced team.

The location is a small-scale, modern living and treatment facility, specifically for people with complex communicative disabilities. Approximately 38 residents live here, divided into 6 living groups. Intramural care, day activities, and temporary stays are offered under one roof, creating a familiar, personal, and cozy atmosphere.

What you do

  • Based on the personal treatment plan, you provide clear structure and room for self-direction, precisely tailored to what each resident can handle.
  • You work clearly and predictably.

  • You connect residents with each other, encourage their participation, and create moments of joy and connection.
  • You speak the language that works for them: from finger spelling to basic NGT, from writing to pictograms. Sign language training will be provided.

Profile

You are resilient, exude calm, and have a keen sense of what our residents need. With genuine attention, warmth, and a good dose of humor, you create a safe and recognized place for them. You look beyond behavior alone, see what lies beneath, and know how to professionally and respectfully deal with challenging behavior.

What they ask

Practical

  • The onboarding process fully immerses you in the unique target group and helps you discover step-by-step how best to meet their needs.
