Responsible for the development and realization of one or more product development projects within a technology company's product roadmap.
- Ensures that new and improved products are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the correct quality standards, ready for serial production and global use.
- Involved from the initial idea: from product charter, business case, and functional requirements to implementation and market launch.
- Works closely with R&D/Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other disciplines.
- Is the driving force behind multidisciplinary project teams and the connecting factor between all involved departments.
- The role has technical, organizational, and commercial interfaces: you understand the content, manage the process, facilitate decision-making, and create support.
- Maintains an overview, provides direction, and achieves results.
- Is the link to the market and customers, always looking for trends, feedback, and new product ideas.
What you do
- Leads product development projects from definition to implementation and launch.
- Prepares product charters, business cases, functional requirements, and integrated project plans.
- Monitors planning, budget, capacity, risks, and quality frameworks.
- Manages multidisciplinary project teams and ensures clear roles and responsibilities.
- Motivates project team members to achieve common goals.
- Facilitates decision-making with substantiated concepts, scenario analyses, and project proposals.
- Ensures effective communication and alignment between all internal and external stakeholders.
- Creates support and manages expectations throughout the entire project cycle.
- Identifies opportunities for innovation, process optimization, and value creation.
- Supports the Head of Product Management with Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s), product changes, and technical questions from the organization.
- Supports the Head of Product Management in preparing and presenting Gate Review presentations to management and the Project Committee.
- Regularly discusses product portfolio choices, new projects, and market interests with the Head of Product Management during project execution.
- Actively contributes to the development and standardization of project management processes within the organization.

- Feels at home in a technical environment and effortlessly switches between strategic, tactical, and operational issues.
- A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree; a technical direction is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a project manager or product manager within a technical product development environment, preferably in machine or equipment construction.
- Experience with product development processes and methodologies such as Stage Gate.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, or Prince2 and experience in managing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to bring different interests together.
- A proactive, results-oriented, and structured way of working.
- Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken; German is a plus.
- Experience with phasing products in and out, commercial and strategic issues regarding new products.
