Designer

You will work in an online sports editorial team of a public broadcasting organization, where stories are created for the app, website, and social channels. The design work is done in collaboration with other designers and (social) editors. Daily management falls under the head of the online sports editorial team, artistic direction by the head of design. The role is for temporary replacement.

What you will do.

  • Work on productions with deadlines of one or two days, or long-term projects of one or two weeks.
  • Contribute to a diverse editorial team with an eye for different aspects of the news.
  • Examples of productions: sliders, explainers, online articles with collages.

Profile

  • Experienced (online) designer who is comfortable in an editorial environment.
  • Passion for visual storytelling and experience working in a team.
  • Good social skills and ability to work independently.
  • Interest in sports and working for a large audience.
  • Creative vision and an eye for concept, within the organization's house style.
  • Minimum of several years of relevant work experience - preferably in a journalistic editorial office, but in any case in a multidisciplinary team context - with design (visual / graphic / motion and ideally also UX/UI-design) and HBO thinking level.
  • Experience as a freelancer for multiple clients.
  • Proficient in programs such as AfterEffects, Premiere, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of programs like ProCreate, Blender, Cinema4D, or Unity is a welcome addition.
  • Possesses a laptop with these programs; an additional monitor is available.
  • Flexible working hours are not an issue, including weekends and evenings if required.
  • Curious, full of ideas, collaborative, and proactive in making suggestions.
  • Can involve others in plans and explain choices clearly.
  • Approachable, collegial, and actively contributes to a pleasant atmosphere.
  • Reliable and a true team player.
  • Maintains a good overview, creates own planning, and is accustomed to working with tight deadlines.
  • Giving, receiving, and processing feedback is a natural part of your work.
