Within a healthcare organization, you will work in a PG+ department with clients who require intensive guidance due to dementia, complex care needs, or challenging behavior. These clients require more long-term support than can be provided in a regular psychogeriatric department, with a need for extra proximity, a clear structure, and a team that looks beyond visible behavior.
What you do
- Maintain an overview of nursing care and guide colleagues in complex situations.
- Observe and analyze changes in behavior and health, translating these into appropriate actions.
- Together with the multidisciplinary team, investigate possible causes of behavior, such as pain, anxiety, overstimulation, or a need for contact.
- Play an active role in drafting, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
- Coordinate with caregivers, nursing assistants, psychologists, geriatric specialists, and other therapists.
- Involve family and relatives, as their knowledge and experiences are important for understanding the client well.
- Share your nursing knowledge within the team and help colleagues recognize signals and act diligently.
- Contribute to thinking about the further development of PG+ and collaboration within specialized dementia care.
