What you do
In this role, you supervise the accountancy sector, with an emphasis on the design and operation of the quality management system within accountancy organizations. You combine insights and information from discussions with organizations, research, and data analysis. Together with colleagues, you determine the most effective approach, ranging from dialogue and organizing thematic meetings to formal enforcement when necessary. You connect individual cases with broader developments in the sector.
- Identify and analyze risks based on signals, reports, trends, and laws and regulations
- Assess the quality management system and its practical operation
- Investigate how organizations handle quality findings and their approach to root cause analysis and improvement
- Conduct on-site investigations at accountancy organizations and evaluate statutory audits
- Maintain relationships with accountancy organizations and relevant industry bodies
- Collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines and contribute to the further development of supervision
What they ask
- You hold the Chartered Accountant (RA) title and have at least 4 years of experience with financial audits
- Experience at an accountancy organization
- Relevant experience in assessing the quality management system within accountancy organizations, for example, gained within an accountancy organization and/or in risk or compliance roles
- Analytical skills: comprehend complex issues and perform sharp analyses
- Communication skills: effectively engage in discussions, even when interests conflict or there is resistance
- Results-oriented: work purposefully and ensure efforts lead to concrete and valuable results
- Proactivity: take independent action and identify opportunities to drive change
- Curiosity: ask questions, actively research, and continuously seek new insights to better understand situations
