Security Specialist

You will work within an IT Infrastructure team on a hybrid IT landscape, focusing on availability, performance, development, and security. This forms the basis for all digital activities within a government organization. You will be part of the Security Operations Cluster (SOC).

What you will do.

  • Follow major technological developments in the field of ICT security.
  • Implement technical ICT security measures and apply security updates in systems and networks.
  • Select and implement security tools.
  • Monitor technical security measures for ICT and evaluate ICT security risks.
  • Ensure reporting on and implementation of policy-defined security measures.
  • Perform security tests required for projects or (external) audits.

Profile

  • Two to three years of experience as a Security Specialist.
  • Fluent in Dutch.
  • Excellent analytical skills, takes initiative, and delivers quality, even under time pressure.
  • Positive attitude, inspiring and motivating for colleagues.
  • Able to give and receive feedback on performance.
  • High degree of self-reliance and ability to work independently.
  • Flexible and willing to work outside office hours, on weekends, and in the evenings, including on-call and emergency services.
  • HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level.
  • Broad professional knowledge of information security in IT Infrastructures.
  • Preferably in possession of valid information security certificates (e.g., eJPT, OSCP, CPTS, or SSCP) or willing to obtain them.
  • Experience as a participant and/or co-organizer of ethical hacking events such as Capture The Flag (CTF) is a plus.
