Data Specialist Real Estate & Living Environment

Work at the intersection of data and policy. As a Data Specialist, you directly contribute to the continuous operational deployability of locations belonging to a government organization. You develop and improve information provision within the real estate and living environment domain and support information-driven decision-making, policy development, and program management.

What you will do.

  • Guide, manage, and coordinate management information and real estate data for the real estate and living environment domain.
  • Contribute to data activities focused on steering information.
  • Assess data issues for feasibility and implementation routes.
  • Coordinate with contacts within various organizational units and a real estate manager regarding the application of products.
  • Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports within projects and programs, including GIS and IGIM.
  • Optimize data collection and processing processes, such as a shared data room or portal for the organization and the real estate manager.
  • Analyze data from various sources.
  • Visualize bottlenecks within projects using GIS.
  • Monitor data standards, data quality, and consistency.
  • Advise the department head and real estate colleagues on KPIs and data-driven decision-making.
  • Prepare steering information, for example, on the maintenance status of the real estate portfolio or geographical overviews of real estate projects.
  • Present insights during meetings and decision-making moments.
  • Facilitate collaboration in the field of data and information provision.

What they ask

  • HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level, preferably in an information science and/or GEO or urban planning direction.
  • Experience with information management, converting data from various sources into usable management and steering information.
  • Ability to comprehend complex information and translate it into clear dashboards, insights, and steering tools.
  • Experience with project-based work and ICT tools.
  • Preferably, experience with the organization, culture, and client areas of a government organization.
  • Knowledge of real estate data and management information.
  • Experience with GIS, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with data processes, data quality, and data governance.
  • Plus: experience with GIS, Excel (Power Pivot/pivot tables), Python/R for data preparation and validation, Power BI (Desktop/Service), Power Query & DAX, data modeling (star schema), and dataset security.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Meticulous, proactive, and results-oriented.
  • Good command of Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.

Practical

  • A security screening is part of the selection procedure; for this, Dutch nationality or a combined permit for residence and work (GVVA) is required.
  • An assessment may be part of the selection procedure.
