This is the task of a specialized security organization, which works 24/7 to secure people and equipment. Working as a security guard for this organization is important and responsible. You will be continuously trained by experienced instructors, including on the use of force resources such as a service weapon, baton, and handcuffs.
You will receive a good salary including an allowance for irregular services and an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 16.33% of your salary, to be spent on extra leave, training, or payout. There is a clear and stable five-week work schedule, which contributes to a good work-life balance.
What you do
As a security guard for a government organization, you are responsible for the surveillance and security of terrains, buildings, vehicles, and equipment. You will perform various tasks, including:
- Patrolling locations;
- Observing irregularities and monitoring camera footage;
- Detecting suspicious situations and acting effectively when necessary;
- Responding to alarms and using force resources if the situation requires it;
- Performing access controls and ensuring that only authorized persons gain access;
- Operating access systems;
- Providing support during emergencies within the organization.
A good basic training and regular refresher courses are part of the job to perform this responsible work professionally and to effectively use force resources.

What they ask You bring the following:
- An MBO 2 Security diploma.
- Previous work experience in security or as a military;
- Dutch nationality, this may be a second nationality;
- Physically fit, active sports and a healthy lifestyle suit you;
- You participate effortlessly in the 5-shift services of day/evening/night and weekend shifts;
- In possession of a B driving license (manual) and own transport for commuting.
Practical
For the first few weeks, you will work unarmed in continuous service. Before you work armed, new employees first follow an internal training of approximately 20 weeks, of which 5 weeks are internal at a training location. There you will learn, among other things, to professionally handle force resources such as a service weapon, baton, and handcuffs. A security screening and possibly a reference check are part of the selection procedure. The security screening, a background check, takes an average of 8 weeks.
Before you can start, a stability measurement also takes place, which assesses how stress-resistant you are and to what extent you are psychologically resilient. During selection, a maximum commuting distance and travel time of 40 minutes or 40 km will be taken into account.
