As a Home Care Assistant Plus, you work independently at clients' homes in a specific region, with a small, dedicated team supporting you. You know your clients and take the time for personal attention.
What you do
- Your day starts with your team at one of the bases. Together, you review specific details and plan your route.
- You travel by car, bicycle, or e-bike, from address to address at your own pace.
- At the client's home, you assist with personal care, getting in or out of bed, and other daily activities.
- You build a bond with regular clients and are the first to notice what is happening.
- You also perform technical nursing tasks, such as dispensing medication (dispensing systems, blister packs, eye and ear drops, transdermal patches).
- You measure vital functions (pulse, blood pressure, temperature, respiration).
- You perform wound care, catheter care, and assist with putting on and taking off compression stockings.
- You have additional theoretical knowledge of common medical conditions to detect issues faster and work more independently.
- You report anything you notice to the district nurse.
- At the end of your shift, you conclude with your team: you update administration and hand over to your colleagues.
Profile
- You have a Level 2 Home Care Assistant diploma.
- You hold a Home Care Assistant Plus Certificate.
- You are flexibly available on various working days and times, including weekends.
- You can specify one fixed day per week when you are unavailable.
- You know what residents need and do everything to make them feel comfortable.
- You enjoy teamwork, helping colleagues, and contributing to a pleasant atmosphere.
Practical
- You work in a small, close-knit team with enthusiastic colleagues.
- The team operates from its bases in the region.
- The bases are easily accessible by bus and metro, and parking is free.
