An experienced Operations Director is sought to elevate the operational performance and further development of a production facility.

What you do
- Ultimately responsible for the operational management of a production facility where high-quality analytical instruments are manufactured.
- Lead five managers and be indirectly responsible for approximately 100 employees within Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Warehousing & Shipping.
- Report to the VP Operations and collaborate closely with international teams.
- Translate the operations strategy into concrete improvement plans and manage safety, quality, delivery reliability, costs, and employee development.
Your responsibilities.
- Operational Performance & Gross Margin: Increase productivity, reduce production times, and improve cost control and operational performance.
- Operational Excellence: Further develop and implement Lean, Business Excellence, and structural process improvements.
- Manufacturing Engineering: Optimize production processes, stimulate automation and digitalization, and guide new product introductions.
- Supply Chain & Logistics: Improve production planning, material availability, inventory management, and supplier performance.
- Quality & Reliability: Structurally improve product and process quality, delivery reliability, and reduce quality costs.
- Leadership & Change Management: Strengthen leadership, ownership, and collaboration, and realize sustainable organizational change.
- A visible leader who understands what is happening on the production floor, but can easily switch to international executive and shareholder levels.
- Drive based on facts, KPIs, and concrete results, and engage people in change.
- Much freedom to direct implementation within clear strategic objectives.
What they ask
- Minimum of hbo (higher professional education) work and thinking level, preferably technical or business administration.
- Extensive senior management experience within a complex high-tech, low-volume/high-mix production environment.
- Experience with integral management of multidisciplinary operational departments.
- Demonstrable results in productivity improvement, Lean, and Operational Excellence.
- Experience with change management, budget responsibility, and performance management.
- Strategic insight combined with a pragmatic, results-oriented leadership style.
- Strong communication skills and experience with stakeholder management at executive level.
