As a Transport Planner, you ensure that international transports to and from Southern Europe run efficiently and correctly. You plan routes, manage drivers, and meticulously follow up on transport orders. No day is the same: you maintain an overview and react quickly when the planning changes.
What you do
- Planning loads to and from Southern Europe.
- Organizing transports with own trucks and fixed subcontractors.
- Monitoring and optimizing daily transport planning.
- Briefing drivers and providing clear instructions on their assignments.
- Taking into account driving performance, routes, and available capacity.
- Maintaining contact with drivers, customers, and international transport partners.
- Following up on transport orders and adjusting them in time where necessary.
- Collaborating closely with customer service and the warehouse.
- Identifying bottlenecks and contributing ideas for more efficient planning.
- Working with transport software and Excel.
Profile
- You have a bachelor's degree, preferably in a logistics or transport-oriented field.
- You preferably have at least 2 years of experience in transport planning.
- Recent graduates are also eligible!
- You have an interest in international transport and possess good geographical insight.
- Experience with transports towards Southern Europe is a strong asset.
- You speak fluent Dutch and French and have a good knowledge of English.
- You are stress-resistant and maintain an overview when planning changes.
- You communicate easily with drivers, customers, and colleagues.
- You work independently but also function well within a team.
- You have good knowledge of Excel and quickly learn new software.
