Youth Residential Supervisor

Within an organization that accommodates asylum seekers, you will guide unaccompanied minor foreign nationals (UMF) in their personal development, independence, and undertaking of activities. The organization provides basic facilities and guidance towards their future in the Netherlands or abroad. The organization is dynamic and values human dignity, collaboration, openness, and results-orientation.

What you will do.

• Guide young people (13-18 years old) in their personal development, independence, and activities.
• Prepare young people for independent living from the age of 18 in an asylum seekers' center, their country of origin, or their own home.
• Organize (group) activities such as cooking and sports.
• Act as a "shadow mentor" in complex cases and conduct methodical conversations.
• Perform daily tasks such as room checks, registering new residents, conducting intake interviews, and providing information.

• Empathetic, professional, and able to set boundaries.
• Able to activate young people without taking too much initiative, allowing them to develop independently.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with this target group.
• Knowledge of methodical guidance and intercultural communication.
• Be resilient and stand firm.
• Flexible availability for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are always wake-up shifts).
