A government organization is looking for a Legal Controller with experience in spatial administrative law to strengthen its team. You will combine legal control with strategic advice and be an important sparring partner for management and project leaders. You will contribute to a consistent legal course within the organization and help further professionalize the legal control function.
What you will do. As a Legal Controller:
- You will monitor the legal quality, legality, and consistency of administrative proposals.
- You will perform legal control on documents entering the administrative decision-making process.
- You will coordinate with project teams and specialized departments on legal points of attention.
- You will bear final responsibility for the assessment of dossiers within your area of focus.
- You will guide and support the legal controllers within the team.
As a Legal Expert:
- You will advise department managers and project leaders on complex legal issues.
- You will contribute to thinking about legal risks, solutions, and the desired legal structure of projects.
- You will ensure that legal aspects are integrally included in decision-making.
- You will engage specialized legal expertise from within the organization where necessary.
- You will make a significant contribution to complex spatial and administrative dossiers.
Profile
- Completed university-level legal education.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably as a legal controller or as a (senior) lawyer in Spatial Administrative Law.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ownership and initiative.
- Broad legal interest and expertise, ideally in both administrative and civil law.
- Political-administrative sensitivity.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly translate and present legal analyses.
- Ability to see connections between developments in different policy areas.
- Effortlessly switch between different levels within the organization.
- Effectively prioritize, be flexible, environmentally aware, and results-oriented.
- Team player capable of guiding and developing (junior) legal controllers.
