Alcohol Act Enforcement Officer

This government organization is looking for a law enforcement officer for the alcohol and hospitality team. You will contribute to a safe, livable, and welcoming environment in a vibrant city with a lively hospitality and nightlife culture. You will work from a police station and be part of a close-knit and professional team.

What you will do.

• Supervise hospitality establishments, liquor stores, events, and terraces.
• Monitor compliance with laws and regulations regarding alcohol provision and hospitality operations (Alcohol Act).
• Address regular APV (General Local Ordinance) violations within your work area.
• Be visibly present and approachable in public spaces, in uniform.
• Address entrepreneurs, employees, and visitors about their behavior in case of violations (e.g., serving alcohol to minors, noise nuisance, closing time violations, lack of permits).
• Resolve situations through communication and, if necessary, take enforcement action.
• Work during evening, night, and weekend shifts.
• Conduct checks and integrated enforcement actions with colleagues, police, and other chain partners, focused on safety, liveability, and combating nuisance and subversion.
• Remain professional and decisive, even in high-pressure situations.

What they ask

• Minimum MBO-3 (intermediate vocational education) work and thinking level.
• Completed HTV (Security and Safety) training or full BOA (Special Enforcement Officer) certification, including RTGB (use of force) and life-saving actions.
• Affinity with the Alcohol Act and administrative enforcement.
• Excellent command of the Dutch language, both written and spoken.
• Valid driving license B.
• Stress-resistant, decisive, and strong in communication.
• Act professionally and carefully in situations that may escalate.
• Easily switch between different discussion partners.
• Representative appearance, act with integrity, and aware of your exemplary role as an enforcer in public spaces.
• Flexible for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
