What you do
As an Application Support Specialist, you are an important link between the business and the technical environment. You ensure that applications continue to function optimally, incidents are resolved quickly, and improvements are realized efficiently. Your responsibilities include, among others:
- Acting as a technical point of contact for business stakeholders regarding application-related problems
- Analyzing and resolving incidents reported by users or colleagues
- Supporting compliance-related activities according to applicable procedures
- Managing and keeping application data up-to-date
- Handling and implementing smaller change requests and functional improvements
- Gathering and analyzing requirements for application changes
- Performing development and maintenance activities within the application environment
- Maintaining change and project documentation
- Supporting the daily operation of AS400 / IBM i applications
- Performing job control, job management, and job servicing
- Investigating and resolving technical and application-related problems
What they ask You are an experienced AS400 / IBM i professional who combines technical depth with an analytical and solution-oriented approach.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Application Support and/or Application Management
- Extensive experience within an AS400 / IBM i environment
- Minimum 10 years of experience with RPG IV ILE
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with:
- RPG IV ILE – minimum 10 years
- SQL/400
- DB2/400
- Integrated File System (IFS)
- 5250 emulation and classic green-screen environments
- Display files and printer files
- Job control and job management
- Job servicing and troubleshooting

- Thorough knowledge of the operation of automated systems and associated peripherals
- In-depth knowledge of AS400 / IBM i systems
