Process Representative

This government organization is continuously looking for new process representatives. Selection interviews take place monthly.
What you will do.
- You will verbally and in writing defend the organization's position.
- You will prepare and analyze cases and write statements of defense.
- On average, once a week, you will plead various cases in court, such as asylum cases (e.g., refugees due to sexual orientation or religion).
- You will represent the position of the responsible ministers before the courts and on appeal before the highest administrative court when a foreign national challenges a decision regarding their residence application.
- Case preparation includes identifying the relevant assessment framework, identifying bottlenecks, drafting a case description, and discussing/refuting grounds for appeal.
- You will also assess whether it is desirable, from a human perspective, to proceed with a case.
- You will handle various cases, including asylum cases, EU law, family reunification, self-employment, naturalization, medical cases, public order, and detention.
- You will largely work independently but will be part of a team with an informal work atmosphere.
Profile
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for writing statements of defense and pleading in court.
- Ability to present a convincing argument, even if your personal opinion differs.
- Strong in quickly processing and analyzing information and distinguishing main from secondary issues.
- Flexible, stress-resistant, and willing to put in extra effort in a dynamic environment.
- Desire to continuously develop professionally and personally.
- Completed university master's degree (WO) in a legal field.
- Knowledge of administrative law is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with immigration law are a plus.
- Experience in handling sensitive files.
- Experience working in a digital environment (e.g., MS Office, Webex, Citrix).
Practical
- You will start with a training program where you will be guided to quickly acquire knowledge of immigration law.
- After the training program, you will continue your work independently.
- Opportunity to shadow a process representative to experience the role in practice.
