Postdoc System Engineer Floating Wind Farms
Floating offshore wind turbines are widely regarded as a key technology to accelerate renewable power generation and reach climate targets. Installing a wind turbine on a floating structure comes with opportunities as well as new engineering challenges. In a Dutch-funded project, the development of innovations in offshore and floating renewable energy technologies is accelerated.
A key bottleneck to the implementation of these innovations is the system integration of different actors/needs and the supply chain readiness.
What you do
- Work on multi-disciplinary design analysis and optimisation (MDAO) for floating wind farms in different regions.
- Develop and disseminate MDAO software.
- Apply MDAO software to assess logistical aspects of the large-scale deployment of floating wind farms.
- Research supply chain requirements and bottlenecks for large-scale deployment of floating wind farms.
- Optimise the system.
- Reduce or mitigate technical, monetary, and schedule risks.
- Work among diverse and energetic peers in a stimulating and inclusive working environment.
- Contribute to and benefit from multidisciplinary research within a research framework.
- Work closely with companies and help strengthen the European ecosystem in this area.
- Utilise opportunities to use the MDAO framework for outreach activities.
