Power Electronics Embedded Systems Engineer
This project focuses on developing a new generation of ultra-compact automated external defibrillators (AEDs) that can be integrated into everyday objects, such as smartphone battery cases and power banks. The goal is to significantly increase the availability of defibrillators in emergency situations. The mission involves designing a miniaturized defibrillation core while maintaining safety and performance levels compatible with a future medical device.
The initial phase includes technological feasibility, architecture design, and the creation of a first demonstrator.
What you will do.
- Conduct an in-depth technical feasibility analysis of the concept.
- Identify key technological barriers and compare several possible architectures.
- Evaluate energy, electronic, mechanical, and thermal constraints.
- Identify the most suitable technologies and components for high miniaturization.
- Define the complete device architecture, including energy management, low-voltage to high-voltage conversion, energy storage, power electronics, control electronics, and safety functions.
- Integration into an ultra-compact format compatible with a power bank or battery case.
- Study solutions to minimize volume, weight, thickness, energy consumption, and thermal constraints.
- Compare different component technologies (capacitors, batteries, transformers, converters, materials, electronic packaging) for miniaturization.
- Participate in the creation of a first laboratory demonstrator to validate the electronic architecture, energy chain, main technological choices, integration constraints, and overall system performance.
