Within a Real Estate team, there is a temporary need for an experienced Real Estate Portfolio Manager. The real estate portfolio of a local government organization supports various social policy objectives. The coming period focuses on further professionalization of portfolio management, asset management, and real estate information management, updating real estate policy, and strengthening strategic control and reporting.
The Real Estate Portfolio Manager is responsible for the strategic management of the real estate portfolio. The candidate connects social goals, financial frameworks, real estate performance, and administrative decision-making, advising the team leader, department head, and the board.
What you do
- Update and further develop real estate policy
- Prepare strategic portfolio analyses, scenarios, and advice on acquisition, sale, rental, sustainability, development
- Prepare administrative decision-making, including college and council proposals
- Develop frameworks for newly realized real estate objects and assess social and financial effects
- Professionalize portfolio, asset, and information management
- Develop clear financial and management reports and measurable performance indicators
- Contribute to budget, annual accounts, and periodic P&C reports
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and monitor coherence, progress, quality
Profile
The candidate will be deployed within a Real Estate team of a Public Space and Real Estate department and will collaborate with policy departments, finance, projects, technical management, management, and the board. The ideal candidate navigates easily in a complex government environment, connects diverse interests, and communicates clearly with management, board, colleagues, and market parties.
The candidate combines strategic insight with implementation power, works carefully, and makes risks and choices transparent.
What they ask
- Minimum of a relevant completed bachelor's HBO degree such as facility management or real estate or comparable
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the past 8 years as a real estate portfolio manager, strategic real estate advisor, or in a substantively comparable position
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the past 6 years with a social or municipal real estate portfolio
- Demonstrable experience with strategic portfolio analyses and with drafting or updating real estate policy
- Agreement with the stated secondment condition
Preferences.
- Demonstrable experience in strategic management of a large municipal or other public real estate portfolio in the past eight years, including drafting or executing strategic portfolio analyses and advising on strategic choices (e.g., acquisition, sale, rental, development, sustainability, or maintenance of real estate)
- Demonstrable experience in developing and applying or implementing at least one improvement in the field of portfolio management, asset management, real estate information management, real estate KPIs, or financial or management reports for real estate in the past eight years
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with complex administrative real estate issues and conflicting social, financial, and organizational interests in municipal decision-making processes in the past 5 years
