As a case analyst, you will join criminal investigations that have a major societal impact. You will perform complex analyses by combining various data sources. You translate vague signals or complex issues into sharp research questions, taking into account legal frameworks. You make insights concrete for investigations through intelligence products and/or official reports.
What you will do.
- Develop hypotheses and scenarios to prevent tunnel vision.
- Challenge your own assumptions and those of colleagues, formulate sharp research questions, and provide constructive feedback to maintain objective analyses.
- Clearly present and document findings and advice from analyses.
- Contribute to a robust investigation strategy.
- Make effective use of available data within the organization.
- Apply specific knowledge of analysis tools and techniques and serve as an expert user for colleagues.
- Seamlessly switch between different systems.
- Contribute to creating a data-driven culture by identifying data opportunities and supporting colleagues in their use of analysis tools.
- Work closely with colleagues within the intelligence and investigation organization.
- Participate in existing (national) networks and share knowledge.
- The position is primarily performed during day shifts with associated on-call duties. However, investigative work is unpredictable. The work is sometimes ad-hoc and irregular, requiring flexibility and willingness to travel to other locations or work evenings, nights, or weekends if necessary.

You are analytically very strong and can methodologically find connections in information from various sources. You are able to process large amounts of information and create clear overviews. You are eager to learn, development-oriented, and can generate insights under time pressure. You distinguish main and secondary issues, make connections, and draw the right conclusions.
You provide sound and critical advice, both solicited and unsolicited, take initiative, are collaborative, flexible, integer, and open-minded. You have a broad perspective, both internally and externally focused, and are aware of societal developments.

- Experience with qualitative research methods and data analysis.
- Relevant education with a focus on research and/or data analysis.
- Applicants who have completed the basic police training have preferably already completed the development trajectory from beginner to expert.
