A government organization works daily towards a safe, livable, and accessible Netherlands, including water management in collaboration with other water authorities. As a technical product owner (application manager), you are responsible for ensuring a cluster of high-impact applications within a smart water management program functions well and as a cohesive whole. You ensure these applications remain reliable, secure, and continuously collaborate.
What you do
As a technical product owner (application manager), you are responsible for the applications that form the building blocks of the smart water management program. You ensure they function stably and align with the needs of users, who also collaborate in a national water management center. Availability, performance, and security are essential. You work closely with functional management, product managers, service delivery managers, and suppliers.
In this dynamic environment, you ensure good coordination, clear agreements, and controlled development of the application landscape.
Your tasks.
- Directing a cluster of high-impact applications within the smart water management program
- Guiding changes and implementations, and ensuring complete and up-to-date documentation
- Coordinating with functional management, product managers, and suppliers during changes
- Making operational agreements and monitoring their compliance
- Managing internal and external ICT parties, such as functional managers, specialists, and software suppliers
- Monitoring performance, availability, and operational reliability of applications
- Ensuring applications meet user requirements and demands, such as information security
Practical aspects. The smart water management program is in a development phase. This role is focused on that development phase and is therefore temporary. An information provision based on building blocks, including user interfaces, is being developed. After this development phase, a management phase will begin. The decision regarding the management organization will depend on the final components (applications).
Your team. You work within the Central Information Provision of the organization, in the Water Management department. This department develops and manages applications, interfaces, and services necessary for overall water management, in which other water authorities also participate. You collaborate intensively with colleagues from related departments and with partner organizations (water authorities). The collaboration is multidisciplinary, content-driven, and focused on reliability and continuous improvement.
