For a dynamic organization in full expansion, accelerating its growth through strategic acquisitions and integrations, an Accounting Manager is sought to contribute to its continued success. In this role, you will lead a team of seven finance professionals.
What you will do. As an Accounting Manager / Chief Accountant, you are responsible for managing a team of finance professionals (GL Accountants, AP Accountants & Credit Controllers) and bear the ultimate responsibility for three critical pillars:
- General Ledger (GL):
- Responsible for correct and timely closing (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Preparation and submission of annual accounts, corporate tax returns, and annual reports
- Coordination of VAT returns, withholding tax returns, and intercompany reconciliations
- Monitoring the quality of consolidation
- Accounts Payable (AP):
- Correct and efficient management of supplier payments and invoice processing
- Monitoring lead times, payment terms, and internal control
- Implementing process optimizations and stimulating automation
- Credit Control & Collection:
- Follow-up of outstanding customer accounts and timely signaling of risks
- Monitoring credit management policy and cash flow
- Supporting the Lead Credit & Collection in further structuring the team
- You report directly to the CFO and work closely with the Business Controlling team
- You coordinate financial integration with every integration within the group
- You critically monitor processes and take initiative for more efficiency and better working methods
- You contribute to cross-departmental projects and represent Finance Operations at management level
- You bring structure, calm, and direction to a team that is constantly evolving
- You act as an escalation point when files, collaboration, or workload get stuck
Profile
- Master/Bachelor in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, or equivalent by experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Accounting A to Z
- Demonstrable leadership experience; you know how to develop, coach, and manage a team
- You effortlessly switch between content, organization
- You dare to make decisions but do not lose sight of the team
- People-minded: you are visible, approachable
- Analytically sharp, but also practical and pragmatic
- Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English
