You guide children aged 5 to 12 who have difficulty communicating. Through play, gestures, pictograms, and other communication tools, you help them express themselves better and feel understood. You observe what each child needs and stimulate their development in a positive and playful way. You work together with a dedicated team of specialists within a healthcare organization.
What you do
- You will work as a substitute for the group that needs extra support due to the absence of one of the permanent staff members.
- You treat, guide, and support children in their communicative development, so that they can express themselves better and feel understood.
- You use various communication tools, such as Dutch with Gestures (NmG), pictograms, or photos.
- You work together with a speech therapist or pedagogical therapist in a group, learning from each other to stimulate language development and other areas of development.
- You work on treatment goals in an experiential and playful manner.
- You have contact with parents during drop-off and pick-up times for the children.
Profile
- You look beyond behavior and take the time to truly see what a child needs.
- You are curious, involved, and dare to look at yourself and reflect.
- You have a completed HBO bachelor's degree (level 6) in a social-agogic field, such as Social Work, Pedagogy, or Speech Therapy.
- Are you currently studying (HBO) and in your fourth year? Your application is also very welcome!
- You are easy to reach, switch quickly, and act decisively.
- You are familiar with Dutch with Gestures (NmG) or the use of pictograms, or you have the drive to quickly learn and develop yourself in this area.
