Employment Lawyer

As an employment lawyer, you are the legal point of contact for all employment law and legal status issues within a government organization. The activities fall under the regular duties of this position.

What you will do.

  • Advise HR colleagues and management on complex cases, such as employment law procedures.
  • Strategically contribute to the development of personnel policy and development objectives.
  • Participate in negotiations with local consultations.
  • Identify, translate, and assess relevant internal and external developments, jurisprudence, and legislative changes.
  • Implement and explain employment conditions based on law, collective labor agreements, and local agreements.
  • Collaborate with fellow employment lawyers, the employee participation advisor, and the Interprovincial Consultation (IPO).
  • Work with colleagues from Human Resources and Organization, such as HR advisors, recruitment and selection advisors, and policy advisors.

What they ask

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrable work experience as an employment lawyer within a government organization or other political-administrative environment.
  • Demonstrable work experience with issues in the field of social security law and pension law.
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrable work experience in advising at a strategic level.
  • Personal motivation letter, self-written, explaining suitability for the assignment and motivation for this assignment.

Wishes:

  • Demonstrable completed legal education at a minimum of university master's level, with specialization in employment law and/or civil service law.
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrable work experience as an employment lawyer in the past 10 years within a government organization.
  • Demonstrable work experience with employment conditions and legal status within the government.
  • Demonstrable work experience operating in a political-administrative environment and weighing diverse interests.
