The station area of a medium-sized city is undergoing a major transformation, including the construction of an underground bicycle parking facility, a new bus station, various (residential and commercial) building blocks, the relocation of the city ring road, and the redesign of public space. Implementation has started, and preparations for the first real estate developments are in full swing.
The challenge lies in the constructive coherence between the sub-projects, which are being developed and realized by different parties. The goal is to make this development a success and to manage interface risks.
What you will do.
- Manage the contractor for the bicycle parking facility and represent the client's interests during elaboration and realization.
- Provide process guidance to the developer of the building blocks for further technical elaboration and development.
- Guide and secure collaboration and interfaces between the bicycle parking facility, building blocks, and public space.
- Tender, select, and manage an independent structural engineer for reviewing designs and supervising construction.
- Close cooperation with the program manager, project leaders, and environmental manager on execution, interfaces with other sub-projects, internal processes, and administrative decision-making.
- Gather and convey information, decisions, and choices to and from the program team.
- Optional: Process guidance and contract management for the elaboration and realization of a collective thermal energy storage (TES) system.
Profile
You are responsible for the technical guidance and steering of the development of the underground bicycle parking facility and the building blocks to be realized above it, with the main goal of managing constructive interface risks between the sub-projects. You act as an expert and sparring partner for involved parties.

- Demonstrable completed education at a minimum of HBO bachelor level.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 8 years as a project leader, construction manager, or contract manager in a technical context.
- Agreement with the stated secondment conditions.
Preferences.
- Demonstrable work experience in contract, project, or construction management in an integrated, inner-city area development at a large municipal organization.
- Demonstrable work experience in developing and realizing a collective thermal energy storage (TES) system.
- Demonstrable work experience with securing technical interfaces between (sub-)projects and (sub-)contracts, involving multiple parties and different contracts, and where the person had a coordinating role in the technical-substantive alignment and securing of the interfaces.
