Guide refugees into employment in the Dutch labor market and help them build a new future. As a job coach at a reception center, you guide residents towards suitable work in the Netherlands. The center houses approximately 400 people, many of whom already have work experience, but often not at the level they previously worked. You help them step by step towards a job that better matches their skills and experience.
What you do
- You support residents both individually and in groups.
- You provide information about applying for jobs.
- You assist with drafting CVs and cover letters.
- You prepare them for interviews with employers, including by giving workshops.
- You actively establish contacts with companies and temporary employment agencies to create job opportunities.
- You also guide residents through intermediate steps to build work experience and increase their chances, if a suitable job at the right level is not immediately available.
- You work during office hours and are part of a team including the location manager, floor manager, and residential counselors.
What they ask
- You have experience in career guidance, recruitment, coaching, or reintegration and are familiar with the Dutch labor market and selection procedures.
- You can effectively switch between different cultures and have an understanding of the background and experiences of the target group. You know how to guide them in a motivating and respectful manner.
- You take initiative in establishing contacts with employers and temporary employment agencies and actively seek opportunities for residents, even if a directly suitable job is not immediately available.
- You speak fluent Dutch and English (knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is a plus).
- You can guide residents both individually and in groups.
- You are good at organizing workshops and administrative tasks related to job placement.
- You are a Christian and can articulate what that means to you.
Practical
- A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is part of the employment procedure. The application is facilitated, and the costs can be reimbursed afterwards.
- Being able to show an original diploma and a reference check may be part of the procedure.
