Data Engineer

• Act as a bridge between business and data
• Support data initiatives that contribute to strategic objectives, innovation
• Advise business and IT stakeholders on data governance and data management
• Analyze business needs and translate them into pragmatic, sustainable solutions
• Guide and coach stakeholders
• Provide training and advice on data-related processes and responsibilities
• Co-monitor and improve a uniform business glossary and common data definitions
• Facilitate collaboration between different departments, product teams
• Align expectations and build consensus within multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to the further optimization of data governance practices based on field experiences
• Stimulate a data-driven culture and create concrete business value
• Actively collaborate in an environment where knowledge sharing, innovation, and teamwork are central

What they ask

• Master's degree or equivalent experience
• At least 4 years of experience in Data Management, with strong expertise in Data Governance, Data Quality Management, Metadata Management, and Master Data Management
• Knowledge of domains such as Data Privacy, Data Security, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Big Data, Data Modeling, and Data Integration is a plus
• Experience within a complex organizational environment; affinity with a technical, operational, or highly regulated sector is an added value
• Fluent in English and also fluent in Dutch, French
• Strongly analytical and able to approach complex issues pragmatically
• Dares to constructively challenge and advise stakeholders based on facts and substantiated insights
• Can view business processes and data challenges across departments and thinks from an organization-wide perspective
• Results-oriented with an eye for continuous improvement and sustainable solutions
• Strong communication skills and experience in facilitating workshops, coaching, and stakeholder management
• Able to clearly translate complex subject matter to diverse target groups, both business and IT
• Persuasive, diplomatic, and strong in building support
• Flexible in approach and able to switch smoothly between a hands-on, advisory, and coaching role
• Curious, eager to learn, and open to innovative ideas and working methods
• Team player with a customer-oriented mindset and a strong focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing
