As a researcher, do you want to contribute to the health of mothers and babies? Investigate how maternal pertussis vaccination can be made more accessible and develop and evaluate interventions that contribute to a higher vaccination uptake. This national project investigates how maternal pertussis vaccination is organized and how its accessibility can be improved.
The project is a collaboration between various public health services and aims to develop a toolbox to make maternal pertussis vaccination more easily accessible. You will map the current situation, develop new interventions in collaboration with involved professionals, and research their effect. The precise implementation of the interventions will be further elaborated during the project with all involved parties.
Additionally, you will contribute to the development and evaluation of other components of the overarching project. Within this role, there is also scope for research in a specific region.
What you will do.
- Mapping the organization of maternal pertussis vaccination per region, in collaboration with youth healthcare services
- Inventorying existing and planned initiatives to make maternal vaccination more accessible and contributing to the development of new interventions
- Developing a research plan to measure vaccination uptake before and after the implementation of interventions and evaluating their effects
- Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and contributing to scientific publications
- Collaborating with your supervisor, researchers, and collaboration partners and participating in project meetings, article discussions, presentations, and other educational activities
What they ask
- A completed university master's degree (MSc) in epidemiology, health sciences, medicine, or a comparable field
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research
- Experience with applying statistical methods
- Good command of both Dutch and English, verbally and in writing

- Experience with statistical programs such as Stata or R
