You will contribute to this as a policy officer within a directorate-general for policy. You will be placed in a newly established policy expertise pool and will work from there within the operational policy and plans directorate.
From this directorate, you will advise on setting up and investing in the development of technologies and (weapon) systems, utilizing national and European policy instruments. The field of European defense cooperation is dynamic and complex.
What you do
- Prepare decision-making on international cooperation.
- Contribute to the implementation of new developments and international policy instruments.
- Evaluate and monitor international cooperation and the application of policy instruments.
- Link European defense cooperation to the build-up of the armed forces.
- Closely monitor opportunities for international development and acquisition of technologies/weapon systems.
- Identify national priorities and coordinate with international partners.
- Provide involved experts with the correct information.
- Anticipate new developments and provide policy advice.
