Project Manager

• Manage multiple civil engineering and public space projects in various project phases.
• Lead projects from initiation and preparation to execution and handover.
• Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
• Coordinate external consulting firms and other suppliers.
• Translate client and project needs into clear project objectives, plans, and results.
• Monitor planning, budget, quality, scope, risks, and project objectives.
• Align project activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain contact with residents and other stakeholders.
• Organize and guide participation and consultation processes where necessary.
• Ensure a smooth handover of completed projects to the management and maintenance organization.
• Integrate themes such as sustainability, circularity, climate adaptation, and healthy urban living.
• Advise clients and stakeholders on municipal processes and developments.
• Make timely decisions within agreed project frameworks.

What they ask

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Project Manager / Project Leader in civil engineering, GWW (Ground, Road, and Waterworks) or infrastructure.
• A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree, preferably in Civil Engineering.
• Demonstrable experience managing projects in public spaces and urban infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of civil engineering project preparation and execution.
• Experience with projects in the field of sewerage, roads, paving, reconstructions, and/or bank and quay wall structures.
• Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and external consulting firms.
• Experience in monitoring planning, budget, quality, scope, and risks.
• Experience in simultaneously managing multiple projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Good command of the Dutch language is required.

Preferences.

• Experience within a government organization or public sector is highly desirable.
• Experience with politically or administratively sensitive projects is a plus.
• IPMA-C certification.
• Comparable project management training.
• Experience with municipal processes and public space management.
• Knowledge of sustainability, circularity, and climate-adaptive urban development.

• Strong in communication and stakeholder management.
