Legal Counsel and Process Representative

Contribute to traffic safety on water, road, or in the air and improve working conditions. You ensure that regulations are complied with. As a senior legal counsel and process representative at a government organization, you work on complex objection and appeal documents and sometimes appear in court.

What you will do.

• Work on complex objection and appeal documents concerning various laws, such as the Aviation Act, Working Hours Act, Inland Navigation Act, and Plant Protection Products and Biocides Act.
• Handle cases such as the absence of an energy label, tachograph fraud, the use of unauthorized biocides, and compliance with working and rest times by inland navigation crews, truck, and taxi drivers.
• Act as a legal representative for the organization in courts, the Council of State, and the Trade and Industry Appeals Tribunal.
• Provide legal advice to inspectors on technical legal cases in administrative law.
• Assess incoming findings and imposed fines.
• Write clear decisions, statements of defense, and decisions on objections.
• Coach less experienced colleagues and serve as a point of contact.
• Continuously work on developing your own expertise and that of your colleagues.
• Think about improving processes and advice.
• Advise on the legality, efficiency, effectiveness, and feasibility of proposed legislative bills and amendments.

What they ask

• University master's degree in law.
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience with complex legal files in the field of objection and appeal.
• Knowledge of the General Administrative Law Act.
